Alexander K. Kiani is the Co-Founder, Partner, and Chief Executive Officer of KDG & Associates, Inc., where he leads the firm’s Tax and CFO Advisory practices. Alex is a California-licensed CPA and fractional CFO with extensive experience advising venture funds, startups, real estate, nonprofit organizations, and operating businesses on tax strategy, financial operations, and long-term growth.

Alex’s career spans public accounting, venture fund administration, federal auditing, and executive-level financial leadership. He currently serves as an external CFO and strategic finance partner to multiple venture funds and operating organizations, providing leadership across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, cash management, investor reporting, tax planning, compliance, transaction support, and entity structuring. His professional experience includes work with Coolwater Capital, Carta, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP, where he developed deep expertise in venture capital, entity structuring, and comprehensive tax advisory across a broad client base.

Known for building scalable financial infrastructure and driving strong internal controls, Alex partners closely with founders, general partners, limited partners, boards, and executive teams across the venture, real estate, nonprofit, and startup sectors to bring clarity, discipline, and strategy to complex financial environments. His advisory approach combines technical precision with practical execution to help clients scale responsibly and make confident, well-informed financial decisions.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, East Bay.

Luke De Grassi is the Co-Founder, Partner, and Chief Financial Officer of KDG & Associates, Inc., where he oversees the firm’s tax operations, financial reporting, and internal finance functions. Luke brings nearly a decade of experience serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and complex business entities with a strong focus on tax compliance, planning, and execution.
Luke’s professional background includes extensive experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and corporations, as well as supporting entity-level accounting and financial statement preparation for closely held businesses. His experience includes roles at The Retoske Firm, RJI CPAs, and Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP, where he worked closely with attorneys, financial advisors, family offices, and executive teams to deliver comprehensive tax and accounting services across a broad range of industries.
At KDG & Associates, Luke leads tax execution, client deliverables, and internal financial reporting while partnering closely with founders, investors, and business owners to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. He is known for his technical depth, efficiency, and collaborative leadership style.
Luke holds Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Music from the University of San Diego
